This day is the national holiday in the United States of America that allows the Americans to indulge themselves in some love and nationalism for their country. The natives of America pray for the prosperity of their country and wish the flag to held high always.
"God Bless America" is an American patriotic song originally written by Irving Berlin in 1918 and revised by him in 1938, as sung by Kate Smith (becoming her signature song). In the days and weeks that followed the horrendous events of September 11, it was indeed God Bless America that was on the lips of Americans everywhere. The people who laid their lives during the disastrous September event, they are paid tribute on this day. The Americans retrieve that the Lord's grace is always with them and will always be which will keep the country on the top of the world. After 9-11 the flag has once again been understood as a sacred object. Part of these civic expressions were attempts to ward off violence and the harassment of minority faiths in the country, most particularly American Muslims and Sikhs in the wake of such tragedy.
